Thank you for this post. We also had a Blue Christmas service at our church. That service, your post here, and the general lets-get-real vibe of our time is giving me hope that we can start to integrate all the feels this time of year (and all times of year) and not have "merry and bright" be our only gear. Not that anything is wrong with merry and bright. But I might feel merry and bright at 9 a.m. and not so merry and bright two hours later. And it all feels like Christmas.
