Watching these two shows, I kept thinking about Richard Rohr's book WHAT DO WE DO WITH EVIL where he points out that for evil to flourish it usually gets turned into a good in the mind of people. In other words, people doing evil most often think they're doing good. That seems to fit both Father Paul and Gwen Shamblin. Though if I had to pick, I'd take my chances with Father Paul. Gwen Shamblin is by far the scarier character, in my opinion.
